Always good at being demure but not overtly scandalous. I’m loving the dichotomy between seen and unseen/dark and light/traditional and modern – I like itttttttt. It’s perfect for a fancy night out in the fall because you don’t want to be freezing cold in a strapless cocktail dress, but you also don’t want to wear 5 layers and look like a conservative grandma.

I don’t know how they do it, but they create something hip and un-trendy each season. I can’t stand it when there’s an obvious trend going on and the designer milks it, tweaks it, or even uses it. Innovation doesn’t have to be OMG that’s never been seen before (because honestly, we’ve seen it all), but Jack McCollough and Lazaro Fernandez know how to make clothes that are hot and relevant. They’re also a little kooky sometimes, and I like it.

Huge fan of this Brooklyn-esque chick. Her beginning collections were clothes that looked like they were made for the most fashionable librarians in the world (which is good). She’s stepping it up now, and I’m always a huge fan of the prints she uses. She’s great at making things look like they clash and are slightly awkward almost, but it works so well. I wouldn’t want anyone wearing the big names like Chanel, Versace, or D&G wearing Rachel Comey; she’s more of a silent but freaking cool name.

N-e-WaYz, Fashion Week is going on. I think this is the first time in a while where I’m not really involved in it. Quite sad actually. But it’s almost a nice relief to be able to look at Fashion Week from a more objective point of view; spending hours looking at all the shows online. Then, I save the looks I like in a neat little archive of folders in my pictures folder. I’d have to say, it’s the only thing that’s highly organized in my life. Nice.

I love the jersey draping in that suit; it makes the look so much more modern and feminine. I’m not a big fan of the suit look on women, probably because I can’t pull it off myself. In this look, however, I love that Doo.Ri updated the classic women’s suit with her own touch and craft.

What’s not to love about this look? I always like the clashing of prints together, especially when they’re stripes. Marc Jacobs is always really good with his color combinations. Even though I would never think to put these colors together, he makes it look goooood. Plus, I love baggy sweaters.

I was so surprised by Marc Jacob’s collection for Fall. I thought he’d do something crazy like he always does. But NO! He surprised us with a subtle, calm, yet ultra geeky-chic-sexy, sophisticated show. Sparkly transparent raincoat with fur – HELLO, that is hot!!! And I don’t know if that dress is made with velvet or what, but it looks mad slinky and not like nerdy velvet that you wore in the 90s (I did). Man, how does he do it everytime? It was too cool. It looks like he didn’t try, but you know he tried.. and wasn’t being lazy. Bravo!

Wow, I really loved this collection. I was especially in love with the long skirts, and I want to get one really badly. It was a cute, doll-like collection with a dry edge. The girl who wears these clothes is like too cool for school because the proportions of the clothes aren’t exactly flattering to the body. But these looks aren’t about sexiness or whatever people are trying to design for, but the artsy yet fashionably aware chick.

If there’s anything that I would want people to know about me in terms of fashion, it’d be that I absolutely LOVE Rodarte!!! I have loved them from the beginning, so I am a real fan!!! I want those see-through, embroidered leggings, first of all. Second, they’ve taken their usual concepts/techniques but used such playful patterns and colors. I wish I could put up the whole collection, but that’d be overkill. I would like to see the Mulleavy Sisters eventually break out of this mold they’ve been in.. you can especially see the similarities in their knits and dresses over the past like 3 or 4 seasons. Not that I don’t love it, but I want to see them get really creative and have the skills to do anything they imagine! Seriously though, all my fashion imaginations and (day)dreams come true in their collections, so thank you Rodarte <3
